The 8th grade class at St. Mary Catholic School recently celebrated Constitution Day with an all-school assembly. They presented the Bill of Rights, sang patriotic songs, and shared a slideshow with the students and staff. They did a wonderful job showing everyone their pride in America!
Markyour calendars for Trunk or Treat! HASA is hosting our 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, October 14th. Please call/text Kim Hesher if you plan on decorating your trunk and distributing candy and treats at 260-466-5123. All trunks should be kid-friendly themes please, nothing scary. Biggby has donated two gift cards for the best-voted trunks. HASA will provide hot dogs, chips, water, and cookies. Biggby will bring hot chocolate and coffee again this year. A big thank you to Biggby!! *Park in the north parking lot by the main doors if you plan on decorating for the event. You may start preparing your vehicle at 6 PM. Please plan on being in place by 6:30 PM, so we can cone off this area for safety. *Park in the large church lot (west side of the school) if you have Trunk or Treaters but do not plan to decorate your vehicle. *Bring outdoor chairs if you would like to sit and socialize! Food/drinks will be served under the awning at the main doors. If it rains, the event will take place in the school cafeteria, and we will decorate tables.
Saint Mary Staff and Students gathered to kick off Instruments of Peace. We are called to a mission—a mission which only you can do—a mission that might seem impossible at first glance. When you were baptized you were given the gift of faith and God gave you a mission to bring His love to our world. To share the Good News of His love with others, especially the vulnerable and those in need. Our mission is to nurture and strengthen our faith so that we grow in virtue and transform our world.
This is our 4th year of Instruments of Peace. For 4 years we have focused on growing in virtue and accepting Rachel’s challenge to reach out in kindness.
This year our challenge is to start where you are and to go deeper.
In the past, maybe you welcomed anyone who asked to play with you. Now, maybe you watch out for classmates who are being left out and invite them to play with you. In the past, maybe you showed kindness by not saying mean things about others. Now, maybe you stop yourself and others from gossiping about someone else.
Students and Staff will sign the Rachel's Challenge banner. Their signature means that they accept thier mission to grow in faith this year and bring kindness and compassion to our world---striving for the outer limits and beyond!
Pray for us.
Special thanks to HASA for sponsoring this event!
