Help save lives!
A few weeks ago, we asked families to nominate one of our full-time teachers to be recognized as the Light of Learning Award nominee for our school. Several teachers were nominated, and the committee consisting of clergy, teachers, and staff chose Mrs. Amy Freiburger to be recognized. Students who nominated her feel she teaches them so much about faith and gives them time to work on assignments before going home. Students also said that Mrs. Freiburger explains her lessons very well, is available for questions, and makes learning fun. One student mentioned that while “Mrs. Freiburger is new to St. Mary’s this year, it feels like she has been here forever.” Students also expressed that Mrs. Freiburger is kind, generous, and gets to the point of what she is teaching. She is a fantastic addition to our hard-working and extremely dedicated staff. Her influence on our students is what St. Mary of the Assumption School represents, “Children growing in wisdom and grace.”
Last Friday our staff and students joined children around the world for the Worldwide Children's Eucharistic Holy Hour in honor of the 100th anniversary year of Our Lady of Fatima. The student council led everyone in a prayer service that included the Rosary and Benediction, as well as a remembrance of the three children from Fatima: St. Francisco, St. Jacinta, and Lucia (portrayed by students below). We pray to our Holy Mother for peace in our families and in the world!
